Abstrak

Polusi udara sering dikaitkan dengan Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Atas (ISPA), dan anak-anak umumnya yang paling rentan terhadap URI. Meskipun aktivitas fisik memiliki dampak positif pada kesehatan, harus diingat bahwa konsentrasi polusi yang tidak sehat dapat menghilangkan efek positif dari aktivitas fisik. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan konsentrasi polusi udara yang terkait dengan prevalensi gejala URI dan tingkat aktivitas fisik pada anak di seluruh Pulau Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan multicenter design, metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional, di setiap enam kota besar di Pulau Jawa, Indonesia. Total subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 1.216 siswa SD laki-laki dan perempuan dari enam provinsi se-Pulau Jawa (Banten, n=200), (Jakarta, n=200), (Bandung, n=202), (Semarang, n =210), (Yogyakarta, n=201), (Surabaya, n=203). Data dikumpulkan secara luring menggunakan kuesioner aktivitas fisik dan URI, didampingi langsung oleh guru asli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas polusi udara yang tidak sehat (> 35 μg/m³) dikaitkan dengan prevalensi gejala URI (Jakarta 18,9% dan Semarang 21,6%). Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA untuk melihat interaksi antara 6 kota besar dan menyelidiki di dalam setiap kota menggunakan paired t-test. Tingkat aktivitas fisik siswa terkait dengan polusi udara, yang dapat berdampak negatif pada sistem pernapasan. Oleh karena itu, temuan ini dapat menjadi perhatian khusus bagi pemerintah kota dan guru sekolah untuk tidak mengesampingkan bahaya polusi udara dan manfaat aktivitas fisik di sekolah.
