Abstrak
Kondisi lansia merupakan kondisi dengan penurunan fungsi baik secara anatomis maupun fisiologis. Masalahnya adalah kurangnya partisipasi lansia dalam berolahraga karena faktor motivasi, kondisi fisik, dan sikap lansia terhadap jenis olahraga ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa chi lebih baik daripada kardio steady-state intensitas rendah dalam meningkatkan kebugaran fisik dan kualitas tidur lansia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah inferensial kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen dua kelompok. Penelitian ini meneliti sebanyak 40 orang dewasa yang lebih tua sebagai subjek. Kebugaran jasmani dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen tes kebugaran senior, dan kualitas tidur dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner kualitas tidur berjudul Indeks Kualitas Tidur Pittsburgh. Teknik analisis data adalah paired sample t-test dan independent t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa latihan chi lebih baik daripada kardio steady-state intensitas rendah untuk meningkatkan fleksibilitas (p<0,05), kekuatan otot pada ekstremitas atas dan bawah (p<0,05), dan meningkatkan kemampuan koordinasi dan keseimbangan (p<0,05). Pada saat yang sama, kondisi stabil intensitas rendah lebih baik daripada latihan chi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kardiovaskular (p<0,05). Latihan chi lebih baik daripada metode kardio steady-state intensitas rendah untuk meningkatkan kualitas tidur (p<0,05). Kesimpulannya adalah bahwa olahraga chi lebih baik daripada kondisi stabil intensitas rendah dalam meningkatkan kebugaran fisik dan kualitas tidur pada kelompok lansia.
