Abstract

Peer relationships play a crucial role in shaping learning characteristics and academic achievement among university students. Social interactions established among students foster positive connectivity, which has the potential to influence academic performance. This study aims to analyze the relationship between peer connectivity measured through the frequency and quality of interactions, mutual trust and support, academic collaboration, and sense of belonging in learning activities and students’ academic achievement. This research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational survey design. The research data were collected through an electronic questionnaire administered to 46 respondents, consisting of students from the Nonformal Education Study Program, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Malang, who were selected using a non-probability sampling technique. The data were analyzed using inferential statistical methods with Jeffreys’s Amazing Statistics Program (JASP) version 95.4. The results indicate that overall peer connectivity has a positive relationship of 74.1% with students’ academic achievement. Specifically, the frequency of interaction contributes 31.7%, mutual trust accounts for 8.3%, group learning contributes 60.2%, and peer sense of belonging contributes 47.6%. These findings demonstrate that peer connectivity has a significant and sufficiently strong association with the improvement of students’ academic achievement. This indicates that positive social relationships among students can effectively support and enhance their academic performance.
