Evaluasi Kinerja Pompa Booster Berdasarkan Analisis Head Loss dan Total Dynamic Head pada Sistem Distribusi Air Bersih Gedung Bertingkat

Pada sistem distribusi air bersih di gedung bertingkat, pompa pendorong (Booster pump) diperlukan untuk mengkompensasi perbedaan ketinggian dan kehilangan energi pada sistem perpipaan. Kinerja pompa sangat dipengaruhi oleh head loss akibat gesekan sepanjang pipa dan fitting yang digunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari kinerja pompa pendorong CDX/I 120/20 IE3 pada sistem distribusi air bersih menuju tangki atap Gedung Bank BUMN Surabaya dengan perhitungan head loss dan kesesuaian kapasitas pompa dengan kebutuhan sistem. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional dan analitis, meliputi pengukuran dimensi pipa, identifikasi fitting, dan perhitungan parameter aliran menggunakan persamaan Darcy-Weisbach dan koefisien kehilangan energi fitting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total head loss sistem adalah 11,06 m, yang terdiri dari head loss mayor sebesar 9,58 m dan head loss minor sebesar 1,48 m. Kehilangan energi utama terjadi pada pipa berdiameter 1,5 inci dengan kontribusi sebesar 61,7% terhadap total head loss. Perhitungan Total Dynamic Head (TDH) memberikan nilai 39,06 m. Sebaliknya, head maksimum pompa adalah 40,50 m. Ini berarti margin head yang tersedia hanya 1,44 m. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pompa masih mampu memenuhi kebutuhan distribusi air ke tangki atap pada ketinggian ±28 m, meskipun bekerja mendekati batas kapasitas operasionalnya. Oleh karena itu, optimasi sistem perpipaan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kinerja sistem dan keandalan distribusi air.
