Abstrak

Obesitas adalah suatu kondisi yang dapat menyebabkan stres metabolik dengan mengaktifkan sumbu HPA, yang berdampak pada peningkatan tingkat stres yang ditandai dengan peningkatan sekresi kortisol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki dampak latihan akut intensitas sedang terhadap penurunan kadar kortisol di kalangan siswa perempuan obesitas. Metode true-experimental dengan desain pretest-posttest control group digunakan untuk melakukan penelitian. Sebanyak 20 mahasiswi berusia antara 20 dan 23 tahun, dengan BMI berkisar antara 25-28 kg/m2, secara sukarela berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Para peserta dibagi menjadi dua kelompok: kontrol (n = 10) dan olahraga (n = 10) - kelompok terakhir terkena latihan akut intensitas sedang sekali sebagai intervensi, dengan sesi 40 menit dan tingkat intensitas 60-70% HRmax menggunakan peralatan Treadmill Life Fitness. Kadar kortisol serum diukur melalui ELISA 30 menit sebelum latihan dan 6 jam setelah latihan. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan uji t sampel independen dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Temuan penelitian ini akan membantu membandingkan kadar kortisol serum rata-rata antara kelompok kontrol dan olahraga.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa olahraga akut intensitas sedang yang dilakukan selama 40 menit/sesi olahraga efektif menurunkan kadar kortisol serum pada siswi obesitas. Sebaiknya olahraga untuk mengatasi masalah kesehatan metabolik terkait stres pada individu dengan obesitas.
