Strategi Konservasi Integratif Kura-Kura Raksasa (Orlitia borneensis) sebagai Upaya Mitigasi Kepunahan di Provinsi Bengkulu

Keanekaragaman hayati sangat penting bagi kelangsungan hidup setiap makhluk hidup. Sekitar 356 kura-kura ditemukan hidup di daratan benua kecuali di Antartika, serta di air laut dan air tawar dengan 14 famili. Salah satu jenis kura-kura yang terdapat di Provinsi Bengkulu adalah jenis Orlitia borneensis (Kura Bajuku/Byuku/Gading/Raksasa) terancam punah. Penulisan ini bertujuan memberikan literasi atau referensi dengan metode kepustakaan (library reseairch) mengenai krusialitas dan eksotisme jenis yang terancam punah dengan tiga hal cakupan penting, yakni perlindungan dengan badan krusial seperti CITES, IUCN dan Peraturan landasan hukum eksploitasi dan non hukum seperti perlindungan jenis dari infeksi dan wabah penyakit, pelestarian dengan konservasi in situ dan ex situ seperti TLC UNIB Bengkulu dan pemanfaatan sesuai dengan fungsi alaminya di alam dalam keseimbangan ekosistem, rantai dan jarring-jaring makanan yang dilakukan dengan pembentukan atau pembangunan penangkaran budidaya kura-kura untuk keperluan ekonomi tanpa harus melakukan tangkap dari alam yang menyebabkan kepunahan jenis tersebut.
