Learning strategies are used to achieve learning objectives effectively and efficiently with the help of virtual laboratories as learning media and provide opportunities to get information more efficiently, also make students aware of their thinking control, so they know what to do and how to do it and students learn to actively reconstruct their conceptual understanding. This study aims to analyse the development of virtual laboratory integrated learning strategies that can improve metacognition skills and concept understanding in biology learning. This type of research is method using the literature study method. The development of this learning strategy adapts the Inquiry, Discovery and Cooperative learning strategies to produce the SIRNI strategy. The syntax of the SIRNI learning strategy is Stimulation, Idea Generation, Research, Conclusion, Reflection This learning strategy is expected to help improve students' metacognition skills and concept understanding so that students' mastery in processing learning information increases, helps students solve problems related to misconceptions and learning errors, and increases students' desire to learn.
2024-04-29T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Sirniawan Sirniawan, Marwidayanti Marwidayanti, Muhiddin Palennari https://ojs.unpkediri.ac.id/index.php/biologi/article/view/21571 Aktivitas Antibakteri Daun Mangga (Mangifera Indica L) Terhadap Bakteri Pada Sputum 2024-07-26T09:27:03+07:00 Dini Fatwa Tri Utami dinifatwa17@gmail.com Muthia Zahra zahramuthia752@gmail.com Siti Fathia Azhar Hasibuan sitifathia312@gmail.com Yazima Fadila Ningsih yazimafadilaningsih@gmail.com
Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is a native plant from Southeast Asia, and has been widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Mango leaf extract is reported to contain alkaloids, phenols, saponins, coumarins, tannins, flavonoids, triterponoids, steroids and glycosides which function as antimicrobial compounds that can inhibit bacterial growth. It is hoped that this content can be a solution as an antibacterial to replace antibiotics, because inappropriate use of antibiotics can cause bacteria to become resistant. The aim of this study was to test the antibacterial activity of mango leaves against bacteria from sputum samples. The extraction method used was infusion with paper discs on Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) medium which was incubated at 37°C for 24 hours. The experimental research was conducted at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Medan, utilizing Bacillus cereus bacterial isolates and extracting betel leaves using water. The measurement of inhibition zones was performed to evaluate the antibacterial activity of the betel leaf extract. The research results indicate the presence of an inhibition zone against Bacillus cereus growth, albeit categorized as weak. The measurements varied across repetitions, namely 2.6 mm, 3.35 mm, and 1.05 mm.
