Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy

1. Policy Statement

Jurnal SPORTIF: Jurnal Penelitian Pembelajaran, published by Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri in collaboration with Asosiasi Prodi Olahraga Perguruan Tinggi PGRI (APOPI), recognises the importance of preserving scholarly publications and ensuring their continued accessibility to researchers, practitioners, educators, and the wider academic community.

The journal is committed to developing and maintaining appropriate digital archiving and preservation procedures in accordance with internationally recognised principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing, including those promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

2. Electronic Archiving

Published issues and articles are made publicly accessible through the journal's official Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

The journal's electronic archive contains scholarly publications relating to physical education, sports coaching, sports pedagogy, physical activity, sports biomechanics, sports physiology, sports psychology, sports tourism, traditional sports, and other relevant areas of sport science.

Published articles, their associated bibliographic information, and available supplementary materials form part of the journal's digital scholarly record.

3. Digital Preservation and Data Integrity

Jurnal SPORTIF recognises the need to protect published scholarly content against accidental loss, file corruption, technological obsolescence, and interruptions to website availability.

The journal's digital preservation planning encompasses the following priorities:

  • Maintaining accessible electronic copies of published articles and issues.

  • Protecting the accuracy and integrity of article files and bibliographic metadata.

  • Establishing and reviewing appropriate backup and recovery procedures in coordination with the institution responsible for managing the OJS infrastructure.

  • Maintaining continuity of access when technical maintenance, platform migration, or system upgrades are required.

  • Evaluating suitable external digital preservation arrangements to reduce dependence on a single hosting platform.

The implementation and effectiveness of these procedures are subject to the technical infrastructure and preservation arrangements maintained by the publisher.

4. Long-Term Preservation and Continuity of Access

Jurnal SPORTIF acknowledges that long-term digital preservation requires measures beyond the routine availability of articles on its website.

The journal aims to establish and maintain preservation arrangements that support the continued accessibility of its published scholarly record, including circumstances in which the journal changes its publishing platform, transfers hosting arrangements, or ceases publication.

Where appropriate and technically feasible, the journal will assess recognised digital preservation services, including LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and the PKP Preservation Network.

Participation in any external preservation service will be publicly identified only after the relevant arrangements have been implemented and verified.

5. Access to Published Content

Jurnal SPORTIF provides open access to its published scholarly content through its official website.

Readers may access published issues and articles through the journal's electronic archives, subject to the applicable copyright and licensing conditions.

Digital preservation activities are intended to support the long-term accessibility of the scholarly record without altering the journal's established copyright, licensing, or publication ethics policies.

6. Preservation of the Scholarly Record

The journal recognises the importance of maintaining an accurate and transparent scholarly record.

Published content is managed in accordance with the journal's established policies on corrections, retractions, article replacement, and removal.

Where corrections or retractions are necessary, the journal will follow its applicable publication ethics procedures to maintain the integrity and transparency of the published record.

7. Policy Review and Responsibility

The Editorial Team of Jurnal SPORTIF, in coordination with Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri and the relevant technical administrators, is responsible for reviewing the journal's digital archiving and preservation arrangements.

This policy may be revised to reflect changes in publishing technology, institutional infrastructure, preservation services, and internationally recognised standards of scholarly publishing.
