Abstract

Oil palm farmers in Lalang Sembawa Village have problems in dealing with pest damage to oil palm leaf shoots caused by rhinoceros beetles and resulting in significant losses. This community service activity seeks to offer professional extension and training programs that focus on the management and control of rhinoceros beetle pests by using fruit traps made from pineapple juice and palm sap. The target partner in this activity is the Kelompok Wanita Tani Pinang Merah in Lalang Sembawa Village. The implementation method includes extension activities on the symptoms of attacks and control of rhinoceros beetle pests that attack oil palm plants as well as training and mentoring on the use of fruit traps made from pineapple juice and palm sap to control rhinoceros beetle pests. The results of this community service activity show that the evaluation results show a significant increase in the mastery of knowledge and understanding of the material by participants by 57.69%. Therefore, this activity makes a significant contribution to the development of the Kelompok Wanita Tani Pinang Merah in Lalang Sembawa Village as a whole.
