Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in the last five years shows the biggest nutritional problem in toddlers in Indonesia, including South Kalimantan Province. Teluk Selong Village is a village with the highest stunting incidence in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The majority of the population of Telok Selong Village is farming and fishing. Haruan fish is a freshwater fish that is often found in Teluk Selong Village. The problem that occurs in Teluk Selong Village is the lack of knowledge and skills of cadres in utilizing fish waste and as health educators to the community who can support nutrition in stunted children and the absence of training for partners on the process of utilizing fishery waste, especially on haruan fish bones. The effort made is to conduct a Community Service Program related to "Empowering Health Cadres Through Innovation of Haruan Fish Bones as an Effort to Improve the Nutritional Status of Toddler Health in Teluk Selong Village, which was implemented for 8 months with a target of 11 cadres. The implementation of the health cadre mentoring program innovates by making cookies made from haruan fish bones. Going forward, it is hoped that the results of this activity can serve as an example for managing stunting issues in Indonesia, particularly in South Kalimantan Province, through the processing of haruan fish (Snake-Head Fish).
