Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools
Generation Journal recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used to support academic writing and research. However, their use must comply with publication ethics, academic integrity, transparency, and responsible research practices.
1. Permitted Use of AI
Authors may use AI tools to assist with language improvement, grammar correction, translation, and other legitimate writing-related tasks. AI tools may also be used to support research activities where appropriate, provided that their use does not compromise the validity, originality, or integrity of the research.
Authors are responsible for critically reviewing and verifying all AI-assisted content before submitting their manuscripts.
2. AI Detection Screening
Generation Journal establishes a maximum permitted AI detection score of 25% for submitted manuscripts.
Manuscripts with an AI detection score exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for clarification or revision and may undergo further editorial assessment before a publication decision is made.
The AI detection score serves as a preliminary screening indicator and shall not, on its own, be considered conclusive evidence of inappropriate AI use. The editorial team may assess the manuscript's content, originality, writing characteristics, disclosure of AI use, and other relevant evidence when evaluating potential concerns.
3. Disclosure of AI Use
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools when such tools have been used to generate or substantially develop manuscript content. The disclosure should identify the AI tool used and explain its purpose.
Authors must ensure that AI-assisted content is appropriately verified and that the use of AI does not misrepresent research methods, evidence, results, or scholarly contributions.
4. Prohibited Uses of AI
AI tools must not be used to fabricate or falsify research data, generate fictitious references, misrepresent research findings, plagiarize existing work, or produce misleading academic content.
Authors must verify all references, citations, data, and claims included in their manuscripts, including those suggested or generated by AI tools. Authors remain responsible for any errors, inaccuracies, or ethical violations arising from the use of AI.
5. AI Authorship and Author Responsibility
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of scholarly work. Authorship must reflect genuine human contributions to the research and manuscript.
Authors bear full responsibility for all content submitted to Generation Journal, including content generated or assisted by AI tools.
6. Editorial Assessment and Ethical Compliance
The editorial team reserves the right to assess suspected inappropriate AI use and request clarification, supporting information, or revisions when necessary.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in a request for revision, rejection of the manuscript, or other appropriate editorial action, depending on the nature and severity of the concerns and the available evidence.
