Abstrak
Prediktor utama yang mendukung keterampilan motorik adalah penguasaan koordinasi motorik yang dikembangkan secara efektif melalui program pembelajaran pada usia sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan koordinasi anak yang tinggal di perkotaan dan pedesaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional, dan subjek penelitian adalah siswa SD usia antara 7 - 9 tahun (N=640; laki-laki=320 dan perempuan=320) yang tersebar di perkotaan dan pedesaan di Provinsi Sumatera Barat, Indonesia. Sampel dikumpulkan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data koordinasi diukur menggunakan Körperkoordinations Test für Kinder (KTK): balok keseimbangan, bergerak ke samping, melompat ke samping dan koordinasi mata-tangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan program statistik IBM SPSS versi 25. Hasil analisis mengungkapkan bahwa siswa perkotaan memiliki skor rata-rata koordinasi motorik yang unggul dibandingkan dengan siswa pedesaan. Berdasarkan uji-t, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan koordinasi umum antara siswa perkotaan dan pedesaan (p value< 0,05). Keterampilan koordinasi motorik siswa di lingkungan perkotaan lebih unggul daripada siswa di lingkungan pedesaan, baik pria maupun wanita. Diyakini bahwa dengan memiliki fasilitas dan peralatan yang memadai, sekolah-sekolah di Urban memiliki lebih banyak kesempatan untuk mempraktikkan koordinasi baik secara terstruktur maupun mandiri. Disarankan untuk mengoptimalkan pelatihan koordinasi gerakan bagi siswa secara terstruktur dalam pendidikan jasmani dan pembelajaran ekstrakurikuler di sekolah.
