Program Pendampingan Sekolah Orang Tua Hebat dalam Mendidik Anak

The rapid development of communication technology presents significant challenges for parents in applying appropriate parenting patterns in the digital era. Lakarsantri District in Surabaya is predominantly inhabited by housewives who play a crucial role in shaping children's character, yet still face limitations in digital literacy and gadget supervision. The Sekolah Orang Tua Hebat (SOTH) program was implemented to enhance the understanding and skills of housewives through three main methods: observation, mentoring, and evaluation. This program involved 10 participants and focused on strengthening parents’ self-concept, improving digital literacy, and developing effective strategies for supervising children’s gadget use. The results indicate that housewives gained a better understanding of their roles and self-concept as primary educators in the family, became more capable of applying healthy gadget control for their children, and developed greater awareness of adaptive parenting in the digital era. This program also contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) 4 by supporting quality family education within the community.
