Abstract

This initiative aims to foster a high-achievement environment through research and innovation, utilizing a training and mentoring framework in North Sumatra Province. The primary challenge addressed is the gap between existing potential and actual achievements in cultivating this environment a disparity stemming from weak collaboration, limited access to resources, and a lack of sustainable training programs. A participatory approach was employed, involving needs assessments, interactive training for teachers and educators, and intensive mentoring for students (conducted both in-person and online). The results demonstrate enhanced capacity among teachers and students in applying research methods, alongside the emergence of local innovation projects tailored to specific needs. Key outputs include a baseline map of the achievement-oriented climate, a training curriculum, a mentoring model, an innovation portfolio, operational guidelines, and a cross-sector collaboration network. These findings confirm that research- and innovation-based training and mentoring models offer an effective solution for establishing a sustainable, high-achievement environment within the educational landscape.
