Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia and is increasingly affecting adolescents, who are a vulnerable group with low levels of health literacy. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge of Vocational High School (SMK) students about TB through school-based interactive education. The intervention was carried out in February 2025 to 144 grade X students from four departments at SMK Pawiyatan Surabaya in the form of interactive audio-visual-based lectures. The evaluation design used a one-group pretest-posttest. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge score from 68.70 (pre-test) to 85.42 (post-test), or an increase of 25.15%. These findings indicate that structured and youth-friendly TB education is effective in improving knowledge and can be a preventive strategy in promoting adolescent health.
