Abstrak
Pasien dengan Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) meningkat setiap hari, membutuhkan intervensi yang tepat. Seni bela diri dapat meningkatkan fungsi sosial, emosional, dan eksekutif mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan seni bela diri karate untuk mengurangi disfungsi sosial, disfungsi emosional, dan perilaku stereotip pada anak-anak dengan autisme. Metode Single Subject Research (SSR) digunakan dengan desain A-B yang mencakup dua tahap penelitian: tahap baseline dan intervensi. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner yang diadaptasi dari ICD-10 dan DSM-IV seminggu sekali. Sampel yang digunakan adalah empat anak dengan autisme di SLB Lab UM. Setelah pelatihan selama enam minggu, data dianalisis menggunakan metode SSR untuk mempresentasikan hasilnya dalam bentuk grafis. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa fungsi emosional, sosial, dan eksekutif pada anak-anak dengan ASD meningkat. Pelatihan karate dapat digunakan sebagai terapi untuk anak-anak dengan autisme untuk meningkatkan dan mengembangkan fungsi sosial, emosional, dan eksekutif mereka. Penelitian ini memiliki sejumlah mata pelajaran yang terlibat dan membutuhkan durasi intervensi yang diperpanjang untuk penelitian di masa depan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa karate bisa menjadi terapi alternatif untuk meningkatkan perkembangan siswa dengan autisme.
