The ethnomathematics potential based on kediri culture as a context for geometry learning: A systematic literature review

The local culture of Kediri holds a wealth of artefacts and traditions that may contain geometric elements; however, a comprehensive systematic study summarising this potential has not yet been conducted. This study investigates the potential of ethnomathematics based on Kediri's local culture as a context for geometry learning. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol, consisting of four stages: identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and inclusion. A search using the Publish or Perish application yielded 101 articles, after selection based on inclusion criteria, 11 relevant articles were analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis and content analysis to synthesise the findings from each article. The results show rich ethnomathematical potential, with plane figures identified in 8 articles, solid figures in 7 articles, and geometric transformations in 3 articles, drawn from 10 cultural objects including the SLG Monument, Surowono Temple, Tegowangi Temple, historical sites, Airlangga Museum, Lesung Joho, Ikat Batik, and the Old Bridge of Kediri. These findings indicate that Kediri's local culture offers rich and diverse potential as a contextual and meaningful geometry learning context for students, and can be integrated into school geometry instruction.
